Mapleview Cafe in Poughkeepsie

Though not mentioned on their menu, their custom made hard ice creams are to die for! Thought we had gone to dessert heaven.Hot foods and sandwiches are great as well, skillfully prepared and tasty! A surprising number of choices, kids meals as well.

Love this place

This was my third tome giving this a try but each time me and my family had s horrible experience. This time we ordered food they were out of 2 of 4 items we ordered. My kids ordered grilled cheese and pbj. The pbj was not edible. It was so loaded that when my daughter picked it up it fell apart it was mush. She lives pbj and couldn’t eat it. The chips they ordered were burnt in the outside and raw in the middle. When it came time for us to get our ice cream kids . We went to walk inside and they refused to go in because they didn’t want it to be as yucks as there lunch. ( there words). We will never give it another chance! Don’t go here! It use to be do good but new management and food is horrible!

Wow!!!! In a very good way. My husband and I just stopped here for the first time. We each had a burger and fries, very fresh. Not greasy cooked perfect. Also the bun was soft which was very refreshing proving that they care about the quality of the food​. We both were stuffed but couldn't resist the homemade ice cream. We decided to get shakes to go and again WOW ....... I highly recommend the banana ice cream. Apparently we were not to stuffed because we made it to the car and both of us were half way done. Very nice people we will be back again. Also I have never written a review before now and this place was so good I had to take the time to share with other!!!! Check it out!!

Delicious icecream and great service

Most expensive icecream cone ever!! I wound up walking away from.a small vanilla cone with sprinkles for almost $7.....are they CRAZY!!

Good food

Awesome homemade ice cream (I recommend cookie dough or banana cream pie), and a wooden train playground for kids to climb on. They also have burgers, sandwhiches, etc., but I've only had the ice cream.

Known for the homemade ice cream, the other food is surprisingly good as well. The family run atmosphere is laid back and friendly. There's a play area outside for the kids which is a big hit as well. Highly recommended. Right near the drive-in as well, take a sandwich to the show.

Awesome spot for lunch with friends while the kids play in the outdoor play area - food is grest!

Unique flavors and Sundays. Added an edible flower making it super pretty. Not the least expensive but you get what you pay for. I've been told the food is also top notch so I'll need to come back.

Literally the best hamburger in miles. I’m not exaggerating in the least. Great ice cream but don’t sleep on their food.

So good and very unique flavors... I got one flavor with corn pieces in it (dont remember the exact name) and it sounded weird but I was also super intrigued. It was amazing. Very hard to resist the urge to keep a gallon stocked in the fridge, but I must. I hope they bring it back next summer. I also tried a blueberry cheesecake and that was as great too. I definitely appreciate the variety of flavors that cant be found anywhere else. 5 stars for creativity and they nailed it.

Went here a longgggg time ago as a kid when it was Debra Js. Time. Flies.

Delicious shakes! Extra thick was like sucking cement mix threw a straw they were so thick (not in a bad way).

Once little spot my wife and I found on our way to the Drive in Theater near by. We came from the Bronx to enjoy a little nostalgia with the drive-in and Mapleview Cafe just added to the nostalgia with the Oldies but Goodies pumping out of the speakers . Food was good and the have home made icecream.

Only visited once, but I had the best ice cream! Their black sesame and tahini ice cream was unlike anything I've ever had, hopefully it's a regular flavor :)

This is my second time here and can't wait to come back. The food is yum and the owner, Christina, is friendly and welcoming! I had Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. It was so delicious....creamy beyond words! She makes everything from scratch....including the French Fries! Chili just like my own. Everything we have had is off the charts...delish! Highly recommend you give this place a try and make sure to introduce yourself to the owners! The staff are awesome as well.

Easily a 5-star establishment not only for their mouthwatering ice cream, but also for their wholesome atmosphere. Every time my friends and I pop in, we feel as we are in our home.

The vanilla soft serve was gritty and odd tasting.

We were greeted with friendly faces of staff members eager to help. They asked us if it was our first time and handed us a menu for future visits. All of their ice cream is house made and delicious. I had a double scoop on a waffle cone: one scoop of bourbon swirl and one scoop of the rich chocolate. The rich chocolate is absolutely decadent. The texture of the ice cream is smooth and dense. We will definitely be returning.

The ice cream here was ok. The service was good but the prices are the highest I have ever seen anywhere in NY for ice cream. Three of use had all different flavors and enjoyed them all. Only bad thing is higher then NYC prices in the middle of nowhere.

We were just there this past Friday. The choice of ice cream flavors was disappointing.

I was pleasantly surprised how Mappleview overcame the transition from "Debra T's". I was very sad to see Debra go and we were wary of the Mappleview. However, the on site owners/operators/chefs are great! They brought back the great ice cream that tastes like it came from a farm. The food is great too! There are some gluten free and dairy free selections. I think it is great now that they have been there for a while and they decided to mostly keep the Debra T's feel. However it looks so much better now that the entire place has been re-painted. Best place to go to for ice cream, even if the line is out the door sometimes....
